WITHIN iALUMBRA

Alumbra Innovations Foundation is grounded in sense of place and community research to advance community, environmental, and economic resilience as a system for well-being. Driven by science and innovation, we take place-based approaches to demonstrating regenerative practices in ocean vitality and land and water stewardship while preparing the next generation.

Cuna del Mar explores, develops, and supports open ocean aquaculture methods that are economically viable as well as environmentally and socially responsible. We invest in businesses that have the potential to create disruption in the industry by demonstrating and enabling (re)generative aquaculture practices to improve ocean health and produce a diverse supply of healthy, wholesome seafood.

Ándale La Paz develops projects focused on learning skills, culture, and art. We provide educational and development opportunities and access to sociocultural infrastructure for people of all ages in the municipality of La Paz, BCS, Mexico. This is accomplished through museums, permanent and itinerant cultural spaces, educational programs, and interactive experiences.

Rancho Cacachilas is a complex of working ranches dedicated to long-term stewardship of land, water, and culture in the Sierra Cacachilas mountains of Mexico. We demonstrate economic models that support land and water restoration. Engaged in an innovative mosaic of activities, including ranching, (re)generative agriculture, scientific research, watershed restoration, cheesemaking, and ecotourism, we utilize methodologies that are well-suited to the region’s dryland forests and arid climate.

Rusted Gate Farm is a demonstration farm that uses traditional, alternative, and cutting-edge practices in its search to enhance production and improve the quality of life for farmers. Based in the Rogue River Valley of Oregon, USA, we develop and operate multi-farm uses including food crops, haying, pastures, cattle, orchards, and agritourism in a manner that honors and enriches the land that supplies our food.

Tenaja Holdings believes that the public and private spaces we visit and inhabit should inspire and improve quality of life functionally and aesthetically. Operating in the greater region of La Paz, BCS, we aim to stimulate and concentrate growth, retain a sense of place and community, and foster environments that feed our spirits.

The Center for Applied Aquaculture Innovation in La Paz, Mexico, is the first of its kind focused on warm-water, generative and regenerative systems. Designed to serve local producers and global partners alike, it’s where science, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem restoration come together to build practical models for the future of food, ocean health, and economic opportunity.
